What the Bank of Japan publishes

  • Statement on Monetary Policy — released immediately after the meeting ends, with the vote and any dissents.
  • Outlook for Economic Activity and Prices (Outlook Report) — at the January, April, July and October meetings; “The Bank’s View” is released right after the meeting and the full text the next business day.
  • Summary of Opinions — about a week and a half after each meeting, at 8:50 a.m. JST.
  • Minutes — released after the following meeting, at 8:50 a.m. JST.

The Bank guides the uncollateralized overnight call rate to remain at around 1.25%. It raised the rate from around 1.0% at the September 17–18, 2026 meeting, effective September 24.

What time does the BoJ announce its decision?

There is no fixed time. The statement is released as soon as the meeting ends on the second day, often around midday Japan time, and the Governor holds a press conference in the afternoon.
